This course is designed for students with little or no prior English knowledge. The goal of this course is to enable students to reach CEFR level A1 by understanding and using familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type; introducing him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has, and interacting in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. This course also aims to enable students to understand very short, simple texts, for example on notices and posters or in catalogs, pick up familiar names and basic phrases, write a short, simple postcard, and fill in forms with personal details.
